Hi, I'm Maree, creator of Soulful Tablescapes. The Pandemic and a request to create a tablescape for our Buffalo Soldier (Horse) Cavalry Association's first virtual high tea annual fundraiser developed into a love of tablescaping, a way to pass the time, and armchair travel during the cold months in my beautiful New England state of Connecticut.
What is it that fuels you? For me, It's my love of our little-known historical contributions in New England and the Southwest, which includes Texas. Creating tablescape themes and incorporating noteworthy historical information adds to my designs. Sailing since the age of twelve, my grandson has been the inspiration for several nautical themes. A friend calls what I do "set design' for the dinner table. With my theatre background, I tend to agree. I use tablescapes to express what interests me what interests others and share my thoughts with my friends, family, and readers.
Comments from male and female friends have been encouraging and the reason for the blog. They were unrelenting in enabling me to share my creations with a broader audience. I secretly think they were becoming swamped with receiving seven to eight lengthy e-mails several times a month with dozens of photos and commentary. LOL! The only thing that can pry me away from my storage closets and the dining room table is an episode of the hit series Yellowstone, my favorite Caribbean Island, or a train trip across the country in a sleeper car! Tablescapes have become my little passion project, gaining more and more traction each day. I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the distinctive content I have to offer.
